NY Forward Proposed Projects

Based on feedback from emails, survey responses, and from the Submission Committe, a draft list of projects is listed below. Note, the physical scope of the application (Main Street from Gun Club Road to Altamont Blvd), limits what types of projects can be considered. Also, projects involving private property would require a public benefit and participation from the property owner.

• Pedestrian Safety Enhancements
• Orsini Park Enhancements (refresh gazebo, sound system, more seating, additional lighting)
• Altamont Library Enhancements (Tool library, sidewalk fixes)
• Refresh/ Re-design Village Hall Municipal Building
• Crounse House Property Enhancements 
• Increased Parking
• Public Restrooms at Orsini Park
• Pedestrian Bridges (Schoharie Plank/Sand St.)
• New Firehouse
• New Signage (at Orsini Park as well as Altamont signs)
• Planting additional Trees
• Repair Sidewalks Maple and Main
• Library Enhancements 
• Additional Bike Racks
• Additional EV Charging Stations
• Community Matching Grant/Loan Fund (small grants to beautify buildings along Main Street)
