Community Involvement

Each year members of the Altamont Volunteer Fire Department host or participate in a number of community related events.

  • Each spring, the AVFA will organize a direct mail campaign to raise funds.  These funds will help support the firefighters to purchase beverages and nourishment during emergency operations.  Additionally, the funds will help support the members of the AVFA sustain its association costs and help purchase non-firematic equipment not covered by the Village of Altamont.
  • Members participate selling Hot dogs, Burgers and Fries during the Annual PTA Garage Sale Day the first Saturday in May of each year.
  • The Big Red Trucks come out each year for the Annual Memorial Day Parade.
  • The members host 2 to 4 free family Movies at Dusk in Orsini Park during July and August.
