Synopsis of January 2006 Meetings and Progress

• Along with finalizing our contract with our Village Planning Consultant, as we had hoped, and perhaps dreaded, we also met with her for individual assignments on research on various tasks and topics this past month.
• We are in process in gathering those various assignments, with preliminary reports due at our next meeting on February 13th•
• At our last meeting with the Consultant, it was strongly suggested the Village also consider joining the Hudson River Valley Compact a State run organization supporting coordinated efforts to promote the Hudson River as a distinct feature in the region

          To that end, I will be proposing a resolution to join this entity tonight.

          This has both technical assistance and potential financial grant  

           opportunities as we plan for the future.

           There is no cost to the Village for this service.

• We are also planning for a community-wide survey to be released prior to our first public workshop which is currently to be scheduled for early March.
