SPEED ENFORCEMENT

All patrol units in Altamont are equipped with Doppler Radar Units to assist in the detection and conformation of the speed of a vehicle.

The Village of Altamont has a 30 MPH speed limit which is strictly enforced.  Increase speed drastically raises the safety risk to all those surrounding the speeding vehicle , SO PLEASE SLOW DOWN.

Altamont Police Department strictly enforces all NYS Vehicle and Traffic Laws and participates in NYS Click it or Ticket Campaign, Albany County Stop-DWI program as well as many other public safety awareness campaigns.

(B) The parking of vehicles is hereby probihited in any public parking area owned and maintained by the Village and on all highways within the Village between the hours of 12:00 Midnight and 7:00 AM beginning November 1 and ending May 1 of each year.
