October 2014 Water and Sewer Billing
The Village Office mailed the current water and sewer bills
to our customers on October 1st from the Altamont Post Office.
We discovered last week that some of the bills have not
reached some of our non-resident users and some resident
users with post office home delivery.
Since then, we have sent duplicate bills to the affected
customers along with an explanation of the problem
with the post office delivery.
If you received a letter and already received
your original bill, you may disregard the duplicate.
Please note that the deadline of payment of the
water fee remains October 31st and the deadline
for payment of the sewer fee remains December 1st.
If you have any questions regarding this situation
or have not received your water and sewer bill yet,
please contact the Village office at 861-8554 (X10).

A Note from The American Red Cross
Some ways to to stay safe during the winter months
1) Wear layers of lightweight clothing to say warm
2) Know the signs of hypothermia - confusion, dizziness, exhaustion and severe shivering
3) Know the symptoms of frostbite - numbness, flushed gray, white, blue or yellow skin discoloration, waxy feeling skin,
Seek immediate medical attention if someone is showing the signs of either hypothermia or frostbite.
4) If at all possible, stay off the roads during a winter snow storm
5) Be prepared if you lose power, create a emergency kit for your home and for your car.

The parks and green spaces in the Village have
gradually expanded, and that expansion brings
opportunities for volunteer assistance.
If there is anyone in and around
the Village who
would like to offer assistance in maintaining the gardens,
We plan to develop a contact list of volunteers, and
as needs develop, an e-mail would be sent to this contact
list with details of place, time, and type of assistance needed.
